Specific Indication:

Fever, swelling of the parotid salivary glands, headache, loss of appetite, pain in the parotid glands. Pain gets worse while swallowing, talking, chewing and drinking of acidic juices. Left and right both sides may be affected. Stiff neck, nausea and vomiting, dry mouth are also important symptom of parotiditis.

General Indication:

Mumps is a disease caused by a virus that usually spreads through saliva and can affect many parts of the body especially parotid salivary glands. Mumps usually begins with two days of discomfort and an increasing temperature. This is followed by uncomfortable feeling in the jaw bone and swelling of the parotid glands. It is a contagious infection spread from person to person through direct contact and discharges from the nose and throat of the infected persons. Mumps can also be spread by coughing, sneezing or even talking. The main symptoms are severe swelling and soreness of the cheeks and jaws. Starts with the ear or neck pain, loss of appetite, tiredness, headache, fever and if it is not properly treated then mumps can cause complications like hearing loss, inflammation of brain, testicles or ovary.
